The Gibraltar Taekwondo Association recently held its 4th Junior Kyorugi (sparring) competition
on June 2003
Prior to the competition the junior members took part in a spectacular exhibition, divided into two parts. The first part was dedicated to self-defence where participants demonstrated a wide repertoire of self-defence techniques in diverse situations - single assailants, followed by two and finally by an armed assailant. The second part was dedicated to destruction techniques, where the youngsters demonstrated their ability in this field on single and double targets. This Kyorugi competition was a great success, to the satisfaction of all present. It culminated with a thrilling bout between Aidon Garcia and Rahul Daswani which had everybody on the edge of their seats.
Ernest Garcia (3rd Dan) and Edward Garcia (3rd Dan) were justifiably proud of their students' abilities, worthy reward for their coaching and preparation. All participants were rewarded for their hard work.
