It was an early start on Sunday morning 28th November for the
participants delivering a spectacular one - hour exhibition of the
British Taekwondo Control Board Gibraltar. They got going before a
sports hall packed with proud parents, families and invited guests
Minister for Sports Clive Beltran and Chronicle sports writer John
Shepard. The exhibition involved junior and senior members in a well
structured display of various aspects of Taekwondo form Poomsae to
sparring with plenty of destruction techniques culminating with an
aerial display of the most heroic senior members. Ernest and Edward
Garcia the 3rd Dan organisers of this event were congratulated by the
minister in his opening speech for the great deal of good which they
impart to the Rock's youthful community. At the end of the display
Minister Clive Beltran presented diplomas and trophies to all
participants while he and John Shepard were presented with splendid
crystal rock mementos for their continued support of the
association.
British Taekwondo Control Board Gibraltar was started in 1999 and was
officially founded in the same year as B.T.C.B. Gibraltar.
It has a current membership of 82 members which continues to grow.
The association has qualified Instructors and Referees and is affiliated
to the B.T.C.B.; Commonwealth European and World Federations.
