Master Ernest Garcia had the privilege to meet HRH Prince Edward The Earl of Wessex during his royal visit to Gibraltar, in commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

HRH Prince Edward took the opportunity to visit GibDock, where a medical ship is currently undergoing it's refit as part of a CSR project.  Peter Hall, in charge of the refit & delivery of the ship for the Vine Trust, detailed the work as well as updating the Prince on the ship's progress and its intended work on Lake Victoria.  Master Ernest Garcia is the Chargehand for this project and is in charge of the Steel Department.

GibDock Chief Executive, Joe Corvelli said “When I was approached by the Vine Trust I was only too happy to offer GibDock’s services in connection with this worthy cause.  I hope that this vessel will become a link between Gibraltar and the communities it goes on to serve”.

Master Ernest Garcia had the opportunity to speak to both The Earl and Countess of Wessex at a reception hosted by the Hon Fabian Picardo.  He said that both were very down to earth and were very attentive when Master Ernest explained how the Gibraltarian community is in involved in Taekwondo.
